THE CAUSEWAY

Wisconsin Indie Rock
The debut album Broadway, Next Right

arrives in 2024

Home: Bio

The Causeway was inspired by a ride one winter day across The Yolo Causeway, a 5.1 km elevated highway on Interstate 80 that crosses the Yolo Bypass floodplain, connecting the cities of West Sacramento and Davis, California. It's best known for crushing traffic jams, but also for stunning scenic views of wildlife. In the winter months - if the rains are right - the floodplain can appear to be an endless sea. It's beauty and pain at the same time, very much like the life we all lead.

John Scott was the founder and former guitarist with dad's impala, a popular Sacramento-area band. He's also the founder of The Causeway. Work is underway now on the debut album, Broadway, Next Right, pushed back countless times by Covid. But we don't give up easy. We're now in Wisconsin and back at it. The songs are both dark and hopelessly positive, very much like the life we all lead.

We look forward to sharing our songs with you. Stay tuned!
